After two years dedicated to introducing the blue economy concept to the Brazilian market, Tomorrow.Blue Economy Niterói is preparing for its third edition with a shift in scope: serving as the premier platform where the sector’s strategic agenda is shaped and executed.
The conference is scheduled for November 25–26, 2026, at the new Arena Niterói, hosted by the City of Niterói and organized by Fira Barcelona in partnership with iCities.
This year’s edition aims to convene public sector officials, corporate executives, investors, regulators, and industry experts to address the challenges and opportunities surrounding the sustainable development of ocean-based economic activities.
Key discussion topics include:
- Decarbonizing the coastal shipping fleet (cabotagem)
- Financing new vessel construction
- Navigating regulatory frameworks for offshore wind energy
- Strategies for attracting green capital and enhancing cross-sector integration across the blue economy
According to event organizers, panels will also address the strategic role of Marine Spatial Planning and regulatory coordination in mitigating risk and fostering a stable business climate along Brazil’s coastline.
Official Launch Set for June 11
In preparation for the main conference, the City of Niterói, Fira Barcelona, and iCities will host the official launch of Tomorrow.Blue Economy Niterói 2026 on June 11.
The launch event will feature Niterói Mayor Rodrigo Neves and Executive Secretary Felipe Peixoto. Designed for corporate leaders, policymakers, and industry stakeholders, the session will offer a preview of November’s agenda.
A key highlight of the launch is a dedicated panel on blue economy regulation in Brazil—a critical focal point for industry growth over the coming years.
The initiative aligns with municipal efforts to strengthen maritime commerce and revitalize Niterói’s historic shipbuilding sector under the guidelines of the “Niterói Que Queremos” (The Niterói We Want) municipal plan.
Hosted Buyers Program Debuts in 2026
A major addition to this year’s event is the launch of the Hosted Buyers Program, structured to connect exhibiting companies directly with high-intent buyers and investors.
Organizers target between 60 and 100 top-tier domestic and international buyers, focusing on dealmaking and capital allocation for projects and technologies showcased during the conference.
Covering sectors such as energy transition, shipbuilding, coastal logistics, port infrastructure, public policy, and venture finance, B2B meetings will take place in the event’s central Business HUB. Access to this matchmaking area requires a “Business” level delegate credential.
