Blockchain.RIO, Latin America’s premier event focused on blockchain technology, Web3, digital finance, and innovation, will feature official sponsorship from the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) for its 2025 edition. This marks the first time the bank is participating as an official sponsor of the event.
Subordinate to the Ministry of Finance, BNDES serves as the federal government’s primary vehicle for long-term financing across key economic sectors. The institution’s presence at the event reinforces its commitment to innovation and to fostering technological solutions that yield positive societal impacts.
In addition to its sponsorship, the bank will be represented in two program sessions on August 6:
- Opening Panel: Vanessa da Rocha Santos Almeida, Digital Innovation Manager at BNDES, will participate in the opening roundtable.
- Featured Panel: At 4:00 PM, specialist Gladstone Arantes will join the panel titled “Ongoing Financial Innovation in Brazil.”
For Francisco Carvalho, CEO of Blockchain.RIO, the bank’s support represents a key milestone:
“Having BNDES as an official sponsor for this edition of Blockchain.RIO is a strong endorsement from the Brazilian government regarding the growing national importance of blockchain. It provides additional backing and security for the ecosystem to develop, address current and future challenges, generate new business opportunities, and contribute to the Brazilian economy,” Carvalho stated.
The 2025 edition of Blockchain.RIO also features sponsorship from 73 other public and private entities from Brazil and abroad, alongside partnerships with 34 domestic and international Web3 organizations.
The conference will take place on August 6–7, running from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at ExpoRio (formerly ExpoMag) in Cidade Nova, Rio de Janeiro. Organizers expect to draw approximately 20,000 attendees, including tech enthusiasts, researchers, corporate executives, and representatives from both public and private institutions.
